Have it installed on a laptop where my docking station is plugged into 2 monitors.

When I undock or redock the laptop, my icons disappear on the task bar.
Also, when redocking, I lose the functionality of being able to click the icons of applications already open on my secondary task bar. I'm currently mirroring the task bars.

Are you talking about the pinned icons or about the icons of the currently open windows?

What exactly happens with OS while undocking and redocking? Is it similar to connecting a monitor or requires something like log-off?
