I use a Dell Precision laptop across four different setups at different location, each with varying external monitors and resolutions ranging from 1080p, 1440p, to 2160p. Most of the time, I connect through different docking station models.
I have several widgets that autoload at startup, such as Clipboard Fusion and Rainmeter. Due to the differences in monitor count and resolutions between setups, the size and location of these widgets often become disorganized whenever I switch locations.
Aside from widgets, some program windows like Firefox, OneNote or many other programs open with oversized windows after switching locations, which is quite frustrating. I’d like to preset the opening sizes of these programs according to different monitor profiles.
I'm looking for a solution that can automatically recognize desktop/monitor profiles and adjust the widget size, location, and program window sizes based on saved profiles. I have DisplayFusion and confirm it offers this feature, but I'm not sure if Actual Window Manager (AWM) provides similar functionality. Could someone confirm this?
I’m avoiding DisplayFusion mainly due to its extremely slow response time (over 10 seconds) whenever I access the "Settings" option. Also, there is no shortcut button for setting "exclusion rules," which adds to the inconvenience. Since AWM and DF has overlapping features, i would rather keep only 1.
Thank you.
