Is there any functionality for opening new programs in the background instead of over what you are working on?
An example, you are downloading a big movie-file while you are working in word with a document, and it is set to open in WMP when it's been downloaded.
Right in the middle of your work suddenly WMP starts and stops your typing and starts on top of word. Annoying!
Is there any way of making the new windows start in the background in todays version and if not, are there any plans of integrating this into a coming version?
Thanks for all replies

No, unfortunately, the current functionality of Actual Window Manager doesn't allow to do so.
Actually there is a function called
Pin to the desktop
that allows to open a program's window in the background, "stuck to desktop". But in your case, the focus will be shifted to the newly opened WMP window (i.e. it will be active instead of a MS Word window).
But I've registered your feature request to our to-do list. We will consider the possibility of its implementation in the future versions of AWM.
