I'm using the stay-on-top 'freeze' workaround to prevent Outlook from 'unsetting' message windows which I've marked as stay-on-top (see this thread), and as far as I can remember its been working OK.

But recently I couldn't bring an outlook message to the front by clicking on its taskbar icon. Here's how to repeat the problem (assuming you've got the specific rule set up as outlined in the original thread - e.g. just a stay-on-top 'freeze'):

1. Highlight a message in Outlook and click 'Reply' to open a new compose message window
2. Click on the titlebar of Outlook to bring the main Outlook window in front of the new message window
3. Click on the message icon in the taskbar

On my machine, the message window won't come to the front of the stack as it should. If I disable the rule, it does.

Any ideas? I'm not sure if this has changed in 5b1 or whether I've only just noticed it, but its more annoying that the stay-on-top glitch the rule was working around, so I've had to disable it for now.

Thanks,

David.

The bug confirmed, we will try to fix it. Meanwhile please try to right-click the taskbar button.

Right-clicking the taskbar does sometimes bring the message window to the front, but it usually disappears again when I cancel the context menu. I can live without the stay-on-top fix until this is solved.

Thanks,

David.

Michael,

This sounds exactly like the issue I am experiencing as explained in the Technical Support forum with subject "Alt-Tab to App Focus or Attempt to Maximize App Not Working."

I am trying to send you more detailed information on the issue along with my config files as you requested, but my e-mails to admin@actualtools.com are being returned as undeliverable. What is the e-mail address I should be using to send you this information? Thanks!

Nick
