Under Classic shell start menu settings 'Start Button'-'Button Look'. Whichever choice I make it has no effect. The button icon never changes from the standard Vista type. Even if I select a custom button and providea suitable image the button still does not change.

OK should have searched the forum first.
This has been answered already under a technical support post for Actual Multiple Monitors

So it seems these settings are ignored by AMM and I assume also by AWM.
If users require the full feature set of Classic Shell should we install the standalone version. Or will this be implemented in a later beta version.

Hello Gerard
Installing the standalone version will let you use all the Classic Shell options, but only for the system taskbar. Actual Window Manager taskbar will use only the Classic Shell Start Menu.
Support of all the Classic Shell features will not be implemented in the nearest feature.
Best regards.
