Hi, everyone!

I'm glad to inform you that our Beta Testing section has been updated: beta 1 of Actual Window Manager 6.4 and Actual Multiple Monitors 3.1 are available there for downloading and testing.

Both beta versions offer two great features - the Mirroring facility and the ability to create custom hotkeys (see below for more details).

Mirroring

This is another great feature for multi-monitor users: mirroring allows viewing a certain part of desktop in a separate floating window. Actual Tools have very flexible and powerful mirroring:
  • you can create a mirror window for
    • the area around the mouse pointer
    • specified window
    • specified monitor
    • an arbitrary area of desktop

  • you can create as many mirrors as you like and run them together (at the price of performance, of course)

  • you can start/stop mirrors independently

  • you can zoom the mirrored image in/out up to ten times

After creating the required mirrors, you can start/stop them via tray icon's context menu:

Create Custom Hotkeys

We've been asked many times to add such ability - and now it's available at last! You can add new items to the Hotkeys list by clicking the User added an image button - the Select Action dialog appears (in Actual Window Manager; in Actual Multiple Monitors you can create custom hotkeys for the Move to Monitor action only):

After selecting the required action, you can specify the key combination and the additional parameters of the selected action:

You can create as many hotkeys for a certain action as you need (for example, several Resize hotkeys with different window sizes, several Move to Monitor hotkeys with different target monitors, etc.).

Minor Fixes and Improvements

  • You can make the background slideshow play sequential by disabling the random play order:

  • You can customize the modifiers key combination to suspend the window snapping, both classic and Aero (snapping stops working while you hold the specified keys pressed):

  • Now Aero Shake and Win-M hotkey minimize windows only on a monitor with the mouse pointer

  • The separate Start/Stop Program hotkeys are replaced with the single Toggle Program hotkey (Ctrl - Alt - Num- by default)

  • Icons pinned on secondary taskbars no more disappear

  • Virtual Desktops Switcher no more disappears after switching desktops

Happy testing! :D
