The "Scroll inactive windows with the mouse wheel" = Checked is an awesome feature. As you know some applications do not respond to this as they lack the plumbing to process the messages. I discovered, at least with XYplorer, and I'd assume all other VB6 applications, perhaps others could also benefit from an observation I just made. If you know Microsoft Spy++ tool and target XYplorer for example you can get Active Windows Manager "Scroll inactive windows with the mouse wheel" to function correctly. The trick is Spy++ must have the focus. I'm bring this to your attention as you might see a way to implement this capability into Active Window Manager as I think the WM_VSCROLL messages are being posted via Spy++ and XYplorer just happens to benefit from this processing. If not this, it's very close. You already hooks in AWM, seems like performing a test wouldn't take much time. Sound like fun?  :D

What do you think?

I've been advised that the tool AltDrag works perfectly with XYplorer. Your code doesn't. AltDrag source can be reviewed at the following link. You might find it interesting in combination with my findings above and allow you to provide a solution more quickly.

AltDrag Project

Thanks

Zardoz2293,

I can't reproduce this problem with XYplorer (v10.70.0200).

Could you send me your configuration files that will allow me to reproduce the problem (Actual Window Manager -> Tools -> Configuration -> Send to Tech Support)?

What other applications (names, versions) have you noticed the problem with?

Best regards.

It mostly works with v10.80.0303 works with v7.0 Beta 2. If in Windows 7, 64-bit, you load all sorts of apps that have scrolling windows, but all of them in the background. Have Control Panel | Programs and Features LOADED in the foreground. Everything will scroll correctly, including XYplorer. HOWEVER, once you close Program and Features, the scrolling will terminate for all applications. Selecting another application will restore.

I still can't reproduce the problem with v10.80.0300.

Have you sent your configuration files?

Could you send me (support@actualtools.com) a small video describing the problem?

Where have you downloaded the v10.80.0303 from?

Best regards.

1. The problem exists with v10.80.0300 (and currently as well as all prior, AFAIK)

2. I'll resend my current AWM configuration files.

3. I'll send you a video with the attached AWM configuration files.

4. Most current XYplorer version at end of last page in thread

AWM 8, Beta 3:

Using the two applications (windows) as an example:

"Program and Features":
Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Program and Features > SysListView32 [is the control class] (list to scroll)

"Macrium Reflect":
Backup (Tab) > Backup Definition Files (Tab) > SysListView32 [is the control class] (list to scroll)

---

Have "Macrium Reflect" selected as active window and "Programs and Features" in the background. BOTH lists can be scrolled. However, if "Programs and Features" is the active window and "Macrium Reflect" is in the background only "Programs and Features" list is scrollable.

Sincerely,
Lars
