Hello,
I normally have explorer taskbar active on monitor 1, and AWM taskbar on monitor 2. I want to have AWM taskbar on both monitors, and I always set auto-hide on my taskbars.
When I tell AWM to replace the primary taskbar, it starts off correctly. However, as soon as I maximize a window via the primary monitor AWM taskbar, that taskbar remains unhidden...won't hide again. While this is happening, the AWM taskbar on the secondary monitor continues to function correctly, hiding and unhiding as it should.
This bug has been going on for quite a while now, though I am just now getting around to reporting it. I would love to see this fixed, because I want to kill explorer.exe entirely and never see it again (it takes up way too many resources on my machine).
Thanks,
Jim Miller

Hello Jim,
Thanks for the post.
Could you give me a step by step description of how can I reproduce the problem?
Best regards.

My situation: Have 2 monitors, AWM taskbar in secondary monitor, explorer.exe taskbar in primary monitor. Have auto-hide set on both taskbars. Have some programs running in both taskbars, minimized (not sure if minimized is important, I haven't explored all the variations on the problem). Also have both taskbars dragged to the top of the screen rather than the default bottom of the screen (again, not sure if that's important).
Change AWM settings so that AWM replaces the primary monitor taskbar. After that completes, maximize the window of a program already running in the primary taskbar (now an AWM taskbar), by bumping the mouse to the top of the primary monitor to pull down the hidden taskbar, and clicking the icon of the program to maximize. I don't think WHAT program matters, but I notice it with all programs, including common ones like MS Office windows. Also, to match my situation, have the program you're maximizing be pinned to the primary taskbar (again, may not be important).
The program window maximizes, but now the primary taskbar will not hide again. The AWM taskbar on the secondary monitor will exhibit correct behavior with regard to hiding/unhiding, though.
Thanks,
Jim Miller

Jim, thanks for the response.
Could you mark the "Lock the taskbar" option (the taskbar right mouse button click menu), unload/load Actual Window Manager and check whether the problem still persists or not?
Best regards.

Vasiliy,
It was already locked. I unlocked and relocked as in your procedure and no change.
I'll add that the problem I'm experiencing isn't always repeatable immediately. Sometimes after having AWM replace the primary monitor taskbar, it takes a short while of use, maximizing and minimizing windows, clicking on things on the taskbar, etc., to get it stuck unhidden.
My overall impression is that an AWM primary monitor taskbar isn't as well programmed as a secondary monitor taskbar. Secondary monitor taskbar is rock solid. Primary monitor taskbar has flaky behavior. It would be great if you test it for a while in my setup and see it make mistakes.
Thanks,
Jim Miller
