Hi,

AWM 6.0 b1

I seem to have a conflict with Snagit version 9.1.3

If AWM is running and I invoke Snagit (mine is set up to invoke from the PrtScr button) I get weird window flashing.  Aero gets disabled.  Windows flash, part of the taskbar will be displayed at the top of the screen and the whole system becomes unusable.

If I just exit AWM the system returns to usable(some windows have to be refreshed and the aero effects are still disabled

I was evaulating some software for a client, and I've found another application which gives the same symptoms:

More info.  I've just used SNAGIT in my laptop with AWM running and no problems.  So it could be 64 bit W7 or maybe multi monitors which affect it.

Martyn, I have snagit v9.1.3 running without any problems with AWM 6 beta 1. I have a four monitors running off two identical Nvdidia Graphic cards, but I have Vista 32 bit instead of your Windows 7 64bit.

Best Regards

Dear Martyn,

We fail to reproduce the situation with Snagit, SmartFTP and VRS Recording System on our test machine (Win7 x64).

Could you describe the actions for reproducing? Step by step what buttons you pressed, what mode did you use and etc. Maybe we did something in a different way than you did.

Perhaps, you have some third running application which creates that effect. Could you try to find it?

Martyn - I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with two monitors (notebook LCD plus a secondary LCD) and AWM 6.0 beta 1 without any issues so far...

I don't know if this is good news, or bad news :)

I've been trying to recreate the problem to get more information for you and so far I can't make it fail  :|

If it happens again I'll be sure to let you know :D

Some more information:

I don't think the problem is related to any particular program (Snagit etc.)  I think it is related to having a lot of applications/processes running.

I got the problem again yesterday.  Symptoms:

Windows flash on the screen.
Windows content goes blank (white)
Some windows which had been maximised by snap to top of screen reverted to normal size.
Parts of the task bar are displayed on other parts of the screen.

If I can get to the notifications area and find the AWM icon I cab STOP AWM and the windows become more usable.  If I move the mouse over a white window most of the content becomes visible.

Let me know if I can do any more diagnostics for you.

On 6.1 I only got this problem very occasionally.  ON the 6.2 beta it is now happening much more frequently.

I can't do a screen capture of it but I have taken some photographs of the screen from the latest incident.  I can send you a file of these if it would help.
