I was hoping that the new Beta of AWM would work with WindowBlinds 5.0. Alas, no luck. WindowBlinds seems to prevent AWM from revealing any of its buttons. Can others confirm the problem?

Yes, the problem is still present. We're investigating it now and have almost found the reason, but still haven't found the solution.
Anyway, I'd like to make a two notes:
1) in some WB themes our buttons are shown normally
2) besides title buttons, other AWM functions work normally

from my experience with windowblinds and awm is that skins that you can 'blur' the title bar, where you can have a transparent, blurry effect, the buttons do not show up.
it's under Look & Feel > Transparency & Blur > drop down menu and select I want to change how window frames look
you'll either be able to change the transparency slider with a skin such as the bundled Diamond one or get a message saying 'When running on XP WindowBlinds only supports changing the transparency of skins which have per pixel frames'
of course this is with winxp ;)
this is a super cool effect where the title bar and any other defined area has a trans glassy feel and blurs the background beneath. awm buttons will not show up on these skins, but shows up fine for me on any other skin.
however you can still right click on a blur'd title bar and select any of the awm options that you have defined for that window, the program has full functionality except for the tangible buttons.

Is this still an issue with AWM 5? If so, can anyone give me more information about which WindowBlinds styles are compatible with AWM? Looking at the default skins that come with WindowBlinds, the only one that says "You can not adjust this skin" under Control transparency and blur, is the default Windows style. Can you pinpoint a particular version of WindowBlinds skins that work with AWM? Like version 5 skins don't work, but version 4 skins do, or something?

Yes, it is still an issue with AWM 5. We tried to contact the developers of Window Blinds to get more information on the technologies they use when developing their product, no success.
With Window Blinds version 4 skins did work, apparently they have changed technology since version 5 and since this version Window Blinds have become incompatible with AWM.
We will try to prevent this incompatibility in new versions of our products, but as you can understand, it's not a trivial task.

In the mean time, you can fix this. Go into your Windowblinds control panel, click on the System Info tab and put a check in the box that says "Never use per pixel borders on a skin". Re-apply your visual style and all is well!
