I installed AMM 8.1 beta & when the app started I got the message in the attachment.

I also sent a bug report via e-mail.

Next I logged off and back on but the app crashed again.

Finally, I rebooted my computer and the app crashed once again.

I uninstalled the version of AMM I had been using (4.3) and installed 8.1 beta 1.

I again tried doing the same thing and again the app would not start.

Today I tried for the 3rd time, this time using a fresh copy of amm81b1.exe; but, the same thing happened.

In case it's helpful, here's a screenstot of the apps that were running that the AMM install needed to shut down:

Getting the same error on Windows 8.1. I reinstalled AMM 8.0.3, but my system still thinks it is AMM 8.1b1, so I had to completely delete AMM.

My problem has been solved.

In case it's helpful to others, here's a relevant excerpt from an e-mail thread between Vasilly I. and me:

You could try to delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Actual Tools\Actual
Multiple Monitors\Command Center\Plugins\WallpaperManager\ registry bush to
solve the problem.

>> That solved the problem after I uninstalled 4.3, deleted the registry entry & installed 8.1b1

Note: This was also the solution to the same problem I had installing 8.0 beta on a machine running XP Pro SP3

If it will not help, you should delete the MultiMonitorSettings.ini file
from the %appdata%\Actual Tools\Actual Multiple Monitors\ directory.

>> I didn't have to do this to get the install to work properly.
