Hi to everyone at ActualTools. After surveying the multi-mon solutions on the market (AMM, DisplayFusion and UltraMon), I concluded that AMM is hands-down the best software for my needs. It is fast (which is the main problem with DisplayFusion - DF's performance is simply not acceptable).
Also, the Taskbar has been accurately recreated by Actual Tools' developers.
I have a feature request for AMM for a future version. The problem is the Windows 7 taskbar itself wasn't perfect - it had some usability issues compared to Windows XP/Vista's Taskbar and it had some features missing - regressions. There is a free third party app called 7+ Taskbar Tweaker (
www.rammichael.com
) which ultimate fixed all of the issues with the Windows 7 Taskbar making it highly configurable so one may set it up according to his own needs, not necessarily how Microsoft wants you to use it.
Now while AMM's secondary taskbar accurately reproduces Microsoft's Taskbar, I have got so accustomed to using 7+ Taskbar Tweaker that I find myself missing the tweaks it offers and the usability improvements over the stock Windows 7 taskbar.
So my suggestion/feature request is for AMM to incorporate the tweaks that 7+ Taskbar Tweaker has.
AMM would surely agree that the Taskbar is the most important feature for any multi-monitor software.
In particular, the tweaks I would like for AMM's secondary taskbar are:
1. Reverse right click and Shift+right click so that regular right click shows the context menu, and Shift+right click shows the jump list.
2. Hovering shows as a list instead of thumbnails
3. Left click on active thumbnail/list item minimizes the window
4. Remove extra gap between items
5. Don't group any item by AppID
6. Don't group pinned items
7. Don't combine grouped buttons
8. Open last window if inactive, otherwise open thumbnail preview
9. Reserve empty space on taskbar
10. Taskbar Inspector feature which shows on double click on empty space

I also use 7+TT and would like to see more customization to the taskbar.
However the feature i am most interested in is the ability to turn off the "hover on taskbar icons" popup from ever appearing. It just serves no purpose for me and is only annoying.
