I would like the ability to pin programs to the taskbar from mapped network drives. I know the windows taskbar doesn't let you do this and I can understand why for novice users but I think a lot of people would like the functionality. Obviously if the network is unavailable it would have to be handled somehow.

Thanks

Hello Peter,

Thanks for the post.

Our multi-monitor taskbar allows you to do it.

If you want to use it on your primary monitor, please, turn on the "Replace the primary Taskbar" option.

Best regards.

I tried pinning an exe from the network it definitely doesn't allow it. I can pin a document and some other file types from the network but definitely not an .exe (or a .chm for that matter) there may be other file types excluded from the functionality.

Hello Peter,

What OS are you running?

Have you turned on the "Replace the primary Taskbar" option?

Could you send me a screenshot of the problem?

Best regards.

Might have been me being a little silly there is a way to do it it just wasn't obvious to me. My normal behaviour for pinning would be to drag fr om the folder to the taskbar like this

This shows "Move" not "Pin to" and if you let go nothing happens. Wh ere as with a file that isn't an exe or chm you get this:

I since realized I can pin exe's from the network if I open them right click on the taskbar and pin that way.

It's a Windows 7 x86 dual screen setup.

Hello Peter,

Please, open your .exe file (from mapped network drives) -> right mouse button click on the taskbar icon of this running application -> choose "Pin this program to the Taskbar".

Please, inform me about your results.

Best regards.
