Please add Stay Always-On-Top (w/ freeze) & Send To Bottom to the mouse triggers section for title bar (both), minimize button (send to bottom) & maximize button (stay always on top).

TIA

P.S.
A forcibly terminate (kill process) feature would be really nice too, for clicks on the close button & through a hotkey!!

Found a bug that has to do with my request.

Set an application to stay always-on-top & freeze at start-up.
Minimize the app, then restore it.
Now click another window that overlaps it.
The a-o-t window will go behind that window!!!
Now click on the a-o-t window again.
It won't be brought to the front :!:

This bug doesn't happen all the time, it's sporadic.

It results in an always-on-top-&-freeze window forgetting the a-o-t setting when minimized, but keeping the freeze(no z-order changes allowed) setting.

Like I said it's a random bug, so it can't be reproduced consistently, but does happen often enough to be a problem.

Hello MainTrane,

What windows (applications) do you have this problem with?

Best regards.

It happens with any/all windows that I set to stay always-on-top & freeze at application startup.  It's random, but if you leave the window open long enough, and minimize/restore the window to test if the bug has happened, you will see the occurrences from my previous post.

The only way to currently freeze an always-on-top window in AWM is by doing so when the window first appears (aka in the startup section), if I'm not mistaken.  The regular always-on-top, by way of a titlebar button or window menu, forgets the always-on-top state whenever the window is minimized.

I think always-on-top w/ freeze should be a more wide-spread option in AWM; when AWM Team can get it to work properly at all times.

I believe it's somewhat related to my previous post @ http://www.actualtools.com/forum/read.php?FID=11&TID=1375 .

AWM seems to have general problems with applying some of the more persistent attributes to window frames when windows are either changing z-order, minimized/restored or first appearing.

You can see my computer setup in my signature, I also have Aero enabled.  I don't believe that I have anything else running that conflicts with AWM.

Hello MainTrane,

I can't reproduce this problem.

Could you send me your configuration files (Actual Window Manager -> File -> Send Configuration -> Send to the Tech Support)?

Best regards.

[+] The ability is added to add custom mouse actions for clicks on particular window parts (see the Mouse panel in the Options window).

:D  I just tried 6.5B1 and really like that the above feature was expanded

:(  I'm surprised you left out the actions requested at the top of this thread

In addition to the ones already available, actions like always-on-top and send-to-bottom are precisely what makes button presses on title bars useful.  I can't imagine it's at all difficult to add them to the list of actions, both are already present in other sections of AWM.

I'm hoping the AWM Team decides to add them as mouse actions for the official release of 6.5 8)

Hello MainTrane,

The list of mouse actions will be changed.

Most likely always on top and send to bottom actions will be in that list.

Best regards.

[+] Now it's possible to invoke the Stay Always-on-Top and Send to Bottom window actions via mouse clicks.
Thanks for including :)
