Hi,

I requested this feature a while ago privately, but just wanted to add it to this forum in case anybody wanted to add something to the discussion.

I was just wondering if it's possible to add a feature to Actual Windows Manager to remove buttons from the taskbar completely.  Currently, they disappear from the taskbar only if the window remains inactive.  If a window becomes active, the title button reappears on the taskbar.  This is rather annoying.

Thanks,
whinston

With object bar by stardock you can replace the whole windows taskbar with your own. And switch between several skins for that YOU even customize graphically with Skinstudio. With object bar you customize everything FUNCTIONALLY.

Then all you need to do is make one objectbar theme without ANY system tray buttons. If you want to see em again, switch to your other object bar skin WITH buttons. If you want AWM to show a DIFFERENT button icon, use either Icon Packager by Stardock or Tweak Window 1.5 by absolute ways in ADDITION to AWM.

Those tips were for small buttons in the SYSTRAY of the taskbar. The area in the taskbar outside of the tray shows bigger buttons. These are already treatable with AWM for invisibility. Of course you could set a per application rule inside Windowblinds if using that, and use a skin u make or download to apply to ONLY the app not to be in the taskbar.

Some prefer object dock to object bar, also by Stardock and a bit more modern with modern side effects, because it is an oscillating animation. But that would also solve your request ;) Because it can put its own systray and taskbar in folders you dont see or only see a tab from if you like, plus it autohides completely on request, just like object bar.

Autohiding taskbars exist in NORMAL WINDOWS XP itself, by the way.;)

Or ask for the latest alfa version of AWM + check out more.
