Would it be possible for the grouping button to change its tooltip to reflect its current functionality? I couldn't see any other way to find out what it will do other than clicking it (which is usually a nice surprise, but perhaps not the most efficient way).

Thanks,

David.

Thanks for the suggestion but we planned rather to implement the temporary glyph change for this button when it's covered by the mouse pointer. Wouldn't it be enough, in your opinion?

I guess it might work, but I can see the problem being that if the mouse pointer is covering the button, the new glyph might be hard to make out. Perhaps it could do both? Or maybe change the glyph permanently but use a subtly different background colour for the button so you know its a 'customisable' one? Just a few thoughts...

Well, we have updated the version 4.3. Now it contains the feature of changing the glyph of grouping button temporarily while the button is under the mouse pointer. Please check its usability and post here your thoughts and suggestions.

Alexey,

Couple of thoughts:

1. I know its only a minor change, but should there have been some version suffix - 4.3.1 perhaps? I now have 2 different installations which both say 4.3 on 2 different machines but no way to tell which is which...

2. The change of icon seems to work well, and by nudging into the button, you can get a pretty clear view of it. However, because I use this for features I don't use very often, I don't recognise most of the icons anyway! So I think for me, a tooltip with the text from the menu option would be much easier to understand. But its not a major issue, as it for infrequent use anyway I guess...

cheers,

Dave.

1. Yes, next time we will add a suffix to avoid confusions.

2. I finally have to agree that you were right. We will add the changing of tooltip in the next version.
