I am having a strange issue with AWM 6 and Firefox 3.6. I have Firefox set to open on Desktop 2. If I am on Desktop 1 when I launch Firefox it will go to Desktop 2 as it is set to do. When I go to Desktop 2 to use Firefox and open a set of bookmarks, AWM takes me back to Desktop 1 which is the Desktop I was using when I originally opened Firefox. This happens even though Firefox is on Desktop 2 where I want it. I do not know if it makes any difference or not, but I open all Firefox bookmarks using Linkman Pro which is also set to be on Desktop 2.

Do you have any solution for this issue?

EDIT: If I open the bookmarks via Firefox and not Linkman Pro this does not happen. Perhaps the issue is between AWM and Linkman Pro.

EDIT: I changed a couple of settings in AWM and the problem now seems to be resolved. I will keep an eye on it, however.

EDIT [AGAIN!]: This behavior has now returned. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Dear Mark,

Please, do following steps:
1. Enable logging
2. Make the switching Desktops several times
3. Send us your AWM configuration

We'll investigate the issue.

Have you been able to make any progress on this issue? This problem has caused me to temporarily stop using AWM and I am certainly hoping to have this issue fixed so I can go back to using AWM.

Dear Mark,

Sorry for delay with reply.

Cause of the problem in the window with class FirefoxMessageWindow. When you open a link from different application then FF(FireFox) , it(FF) creates that window (FirefoxMessageWindow). So AWM switches to default desktop where the window was created.

I'd recommend you:
  • exit FF
  • change the rule for FF (disable Window Class parameter on Target Panel)
  • save changes
  • run FF again
  • try to reproduce the situation

Even after following the steps you outlined, I wind up with the same problem.
