After upgrading to 8.14, the "Action center" button (lower left corner next to the systray) no longer works with AWM taskbars, meaning that nothing happens when it's clicked. However, clicking the button in the "original windows" taskbar works as expected.

So far, I reproduced this on 2 W10 Pro x64 setups, running v1903 & v1807, but please let me know if further details are required.

Kind regards

Hello, Corneliu

Do you mean this happens when the system taskbar is on the main monitor and AWM taskbar is on the sedondary?

Quote
the "Action center" button (lower left corner next to the systray)
The Action Center button is usually in the right part of the taskbar. Do you use the Windows with right to left language?

Please check whether the "Support system utilities and administrative tools" option was enabled during the installation: start the Registry Editor application (Win+R, then type regedit in the "Run" window, press Enter) and see whether its window is affected by AWM (it should have the additional title buttons or window menu items if the Default Settings and the buttons and menu items in Default Settings are not disabled in AWM configuration module).

Best regards.

Hi Bogdan,

1) System taskbar woks fine, while none of the AWM do, either replacing the system one or being on a secondary monitor.

2) You're correct, it's in the lower right corner, sorry for the confusion, I'm not using a RTL setup.

3) "Support system utilities" option is definitely DISABLED. My setup's been like this for a few years now

Corneliu,

I mean, does the problem persist when the "Replace the system taskbar" option is disabled?

Best regards.

:) I know what you mean but not sure how to better put it into words to clarify. Let me give it another try.

Yes, it also happens when the option is disabled, but only when clicking the secondary AWM taskbar buttons.

To summarize the scenarios:

a) "Replace the system taskbar" enabled:
    - no system taskbar
    - No AWM taskbar (either primary or secondary) shows the action center panel when the button is clicked

b) "Replace the system taskbar" disabled:
    - system taskbar works fine
    - No secondary AWM taskbar shows the action center panel when the button is clicked

Have a nice weekend!

Corneliu,

Could you disable all secondary monitors and enable the "Replace the system taskbar" option, so that there is only the primary monitor with AWM taskbar. Does the problem persist in this case?

Best regards.

Hi Bogdan,

Same thing happens. I take it you were not able to reproduce it?

Corneliu,

Yes, we're unable to reproduce this problem.

Are you running any visual enhancement or taskbar enhancement software?

Were you running 8.13.3 before the update to 8.14? Could you install the version you were running before the update and make sure this problem doesn't persist in that version.
You can download the installation files on this page.

Best regards.

I see, I don't really remember the previous version, but it was surely the latest 8.13.x (quite probably  8.13.3). The only other tool I'm using is Stardock Fences to group icons on my desktop but i've had no issues whatsoever in the past. I'll make some more tests as required as soon as I get home.

Kind regards

Hi Bogdan,

Sorry for the delay. I confirm that the previous version was 8.13.3.
Downgrading to it fixes the problem. Upgrading to 8.14.0 introduces the issue again.
