When I'm using AWM's feature "Pin to desktop" to Total Commander window I'm unable to play any video files using all popular players (checked on WMP 11, WMP old, Mplayer, SMPlayer, Video LAN).
This problem disappears when I turn the option "Pin to desktop" off.
Also I've found in VLAN a message: hardware YUV DirectX overlay.
It looks like the "Pin to desktop" option interferes with any media player. Is it true? Is it a bug or limitation of AWM?
I'm using the fully registered 5.1 version.

We tried to reproduce the problem, didn't detect it with the players currently installed on our testing machines.
Therefore please specify what video card and drivers you have. It would be great if you could try to reproduce the problem on another machine (if you have such opportunity) with another video card.

Computer: FSC Celsius H240 1.83G 2G RAM
Graphics: ATI MOBILITY FireGL V5200 512M RAM
Default resolution: 1920x1200.
I'm using the newest drivers for my graphic card.
I'll try to reproduce the problem on the other machine.
Which players are you using for testing?

Ok,
On the second machine the problem doesn't exist. (SONY VAIO centrino 1.2G 512MB RAM with Intel Extreme Graphics 2 for Mobile 82852/82855 64MB RAM)
What is going on with my graphic? What can be responsable for my problem?
I'm quite sure it is caused only by ticking the "Pin to desktop" option. What generally will happen with drivers/output when I tick this option? Could you explain to mi the mechanism of that feature? What is causing this interference?

We tried with standard media player and media player Classic.
The only reason of this behavior we can imagine at the moment is some peculiarity of video drivers. But, as we cannot reproduce it on our testing machine, it's just an assumption.
I recommend you to
install Media Player Classic
, there you can choose among several modes of video output. So it would be interesting to know with what mode it works and with what does not.

You are right. I don't have this problem with Media Player Classic. Everything is fine.
You mentioned that in MPC you can change the video output mode. How can I do this? I'd like to find what exactly is wrong and why MPC is working whereas rest or players not.

It's at: View->Options->Playback->Output.

Ok, Thx,
I've checked playing file with all options in Output\DirectShow Video. Only the the Old Renderer option in Windoes Media Player Classic causes this same effect as I have using WMP 11, WMP old, Mplayer, SMPlayer or Video LAN.
Does it indicate you any solution?

Apparently there's a certain incompatibility with ATI MOBILITY FireGL or with its drivers...
We recommend you to use Media Player Classic on your primary machine (FSC Celsius), any mode except for
Old Renderer
, if this options suits you.

Right now I can play films with MPC, Mplayer, SMPlayer, Video LAN. I think any player which allows to change rendering mode can co-operate with AWM. AWM works with "old rednering mode"
