HP nw8440 docked and connected to 24" monitor
Vista Ultimate x86
AWM 4.5 (day 9 of trial)
1. Whenever I bring up the AWM Configuration window, make a change, and then click Save, the Windows Sidebar background turns black (instead of being transparent). The only resolution seems to be to exit and restart Sidebar.
2.In Default Settings | Title Buttons - unselect all buttons (now non-specific windows will only have one AWM button, the one with the two down arrows). In a window with no specific settings, click on the single AWM title button to access the AWM menu. Choose Resize Window>Custom Size. Pick a new size and click OK. Now when you hover over or click the single AWM title button it becomes the Resize Window button instead of the full menu.
Thanks.

Mike,
1. Please create an Exclusion for
Windows Vista Sidebar
. In the
Target Window pane
just check the
Program
criterion (
Window Caption
and
Window Class
are not required, simply disable them).
2. First of all I should say that
the grouping button
if you don't require it can be turned off at the
Title Buttons property sheet
. The behavior you described above is normal for this button (see
here
how it works).

Thanks! That solved both problems. The grouping button behavior is not obvious but after reading the help I can see how it would be handy.

The issue concerning black background of Windows Sidebar is solved, the fix is available in the final release of
version 5.0
.
