I'm running the Atom editor (available at atom.io), and noticed a strange problem caused when running AWM simultaneously:  When clicking the program on the taskbar to bring the window to focus, the window will often go from a maximized state to it's non-maximized state; and, when attempting to maximize the window, it takes multiple attempts at clicking the maximize button (or Win 10 shortcut: Win+Up) to get the window to stay maximized.  (For this latter case, see the gif at http://imgur.com/GnHSGrA .)

Can anyone confirm they are having this problem too with this combination?

Mark, when posting a bug report or requesting a help with any particular issue, please specify the following details:
  • name and version of the Actual Tools product that you have a problem with (e.g. Actual Multiple Monitors 8.9)
  • version of your Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, etc.)
  • edition of your Windows (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • name and version of the 3rd party program, in case you have a problem with some particular software (e.g. Mozilla Firefox 22.0)
Thanks.

Ah, sorry.  I was crazy tired when I submitted this last night.  Here's the details:
  • Actual Window Manager 8.9
  • Windows 10 (64-bit), build 14393 (Anniversary update)
  • 3rd party program: Atom, v1.9.7
Atom seems to be the only program exhibiting this behavior, but the problem goes away when I pause AWM.

Hello Mark,

Please send us your configuration files (Actual Window Manager -> Tools -> Configuration -> Send to Tech Support).

Thanks, Vasiliy -- the config file has been sent.  I referenced this post in the problem description in the email.  Please let me know if anything further is needed from me in the meantime.

I don't seem to be able to attach and send the config via email, using either my work email address or Gmail (both block it due to security settings prohibiting certain content -- is there an executable somewhere in this ZIP?).

Can I just attach it here? (...no, apparently I cannot.)

Any suggestions?

It's due the .ini configuration files in the configuration zip archive.

If you have email addresses from other email services you can try them. Or you can use one of the file hosting services (Dropbox, Google drive for example) to upload the zip archive and provide us a link to the file.

Best regards.

Hello, Mark

The problem with maximization of the Atom window has been confirmed. We'll try to fix it. It's triggered by the presence of the Actual Window Manager title buttons on the Atom window title bar, and doesn't happen if you disable all title buttons (including grouping button) in the settings of Actual Window Manager that are applied to the Atom window.

But i was unable to reproduce the going from maximized state to non-maximized state upon clicking the taskbar icon and it seems like this is not presented on the gif you've provided. Have you noticed the guaranteed way to reprouce this issue? Does it depend on what window had the focus before swithing to the Atom window?

Best regadrs.

Hi Bogdan, sorry for the delay.

I see my first GIF didn't illustrate the taskbar portion of the problem -- here's an animated GIF of the problem in action:  http://imgur.com/nEYNYcg

It doesn't seem to be affected by whatever else is running; if the program is minimized and then brought to the foreground via the taskbar, the maximized window will no longer be maximized, and the same necessity of maximizing the window multiple times occurs.
