Hello appreciate help for this.

Upgraded from 7 to 8. My old pinned program for chrome no longer works and comes up with an error message

C:\.... .\App Data\Roaming\Actual Tools\Actual Multiple Monitors\PinnedSites\Google Chrome(2).lnk
Class not registered

Anybody have any idea why? I checked the shortcut in file explorer and its valid

Thamks!

Hello Lo Khai Lin.

Does your primary system taskbar have the Chrome shortcut and if does then how this shortcut works?

Are you able to unpin the Chrome shortcut from the Actual Multiple Monitors taskbar and then re-pin it?

Best regards.

Hello thanks for replying!

The primary system taskbar (using windows 8's default) links directly to chrome in appdata\local\google\chrome\application\chrome.exe

the amm taskbar links to the above mentioned path C:\.... .\App Data\Roaming\Actual Tools\Actual Multiple Monitors\PinnedSites\Google Chrome(2).lnk

and that shortcut links to chrome in appdata\local\google\chrome\application\chrome.exe which doesnt work for some reason, any amount of pinning, unpinning or repinning ends up with the same result sadly!

Thanks!

Hello Lo Khai Lin.

Is the Chrome icon on the system taskbar working?

Could you try to re-install Chrome and try to pin it again?

Best regards.

Saying "the amm taskbar links to the above mentioned path..." what exactly property field do you mean?

The "Object" path of the Shortcut tab or the "location" path of the General tab?

Are they the same for the Chrome shortcut on the Actual Multiple Monitors taskbar?

Best.

ah apologies after reinstalling the properties changed for the pinned chrome on amm taskbar.

C:\Users\.. .\AppData\Roaming\Actual Tools\Actual Multiple Monitors\PinnedSites is the location of the shortcut.

The target does link to where chrome is installed and is the same as the system taskbar. Error message remains the same as the above though

Do you mean the problem still persists?

What Windows 8 32 or 64-bit are you running?

What our product are you running (name, version)?

Best redards.

Hello Lo Khai Lin.

When you drag the Chrome window to the secondary, are the pinned Chrome icon and the active Chrome icon superposed or there are two separate icons?

Best regards.
