I am interested in a HP Z820 dual xeon 2687 workstation. I'll use it for music production, it has to be as quiet as possible. I want to drive at least 3 screens, two 1600x1200 in portrait and one 2560x1600 in landscape. I opt for a nVidia NVS450 graphics card, passively cooled, which supports 4 screens.

This card is a 2D-card. I thought, for gaming, I might plug a second 3D consumer card into the machine, which will drive a second input to the 2560x1600 screen. BUT this card won't be active (and loud) as long as I don't want it to. I want to use either the NVS450 multiscreen card, OR the gaming card.

Is this even possible with Win7 hardware wise?

Also, will AWM help me managing switching cards/screens, via Desktop Profiles or the like?
