Just thought I'd post an example of what might happen to you if you buy a new laptop with nView already active. AWM and nView do not play nicely together, not really a surprise, but maybe it will help out others that wonder why AWM seems 'all messed up'.

Same here. AWM is incompatible with NVidia Nview (Win7 Prof 64bit, Quadro FX 4500 graphics card). All windows are mixed up and crash, can't be closed anymore; I even got a bluescreen total crash (computer won't boot anymore, no boot menu etc.).
Which is a bummer since now I am forced to use DisplayFusion Pro where I'd much rather use AWM.

BTW, this is with the "Multiple Desktops" Nview setting already deactivated.
I need the automatic window and dialog positioning of Nview, that is why I can't uninstall/deactivate Nview completely.

Hello gentlemen.
David, does the problem occur when nView is deactivated completely?

Hi Bogdan,

No problem when nView is deactivated.
As mentioned, I need nView because I did not find any other program that opens dialogs on the correct monitor (where the mouse is, or where the parent application is).
Regards David

Thank you for your posts.
We'll pay attention to this issue.
What version of nView are you running?

The compatibility with nView has been improved in the beta 2 of
Actual Window Manager 7.1
. Please check it out.
