MS Visual Studio 2010 (running on XP though) has a very flexible tool window structure - they can be docked as part of the main window, or made to float, can be combined, etc. Very easy to lay the screen out as you want. But AWM doesn't seem to cope well with them when they're floating. See the attached images - the top one is how it looks when VS first loads, and the bottom one is when the toolbox window gets focus.

I tried creating a rule to remove the titlebuttons, but the window class returned to AWM when dropping the target is:

HwndWrapper[DefaultDomain;;3dfa85c3-efdf-46e2-a00b-4d8419148d17]

and its different for every toolbox floating window. The caption however is the same as the main window and the process is the same too, so its difficult to create a single rule that would exclude any toolbox window that is made to float.

Any ideas how to manage this?

Thanks,

David.

Hello David,

Thanks for the post.

Currently there is no other way to solve this problem, besides adding each window separately to the exclusions.

We'll investigate this problem.

Best regards.
