Hi,

I need to set up the size and position for every new Firefox window.

That does not work when the window starts. I have to click on Reapply Settings for the window size and position to be the ones I memorized.

I'm using Actual Window Manager v8.15.1 on Windows 10, with Firefox Developer Edition 127.0b5.

Hello, Robert

Thank you for contacting us.

This is a known problem. Firefox remembers and restores its position and size on its own, hence the conflict between its own restoration and our software startup actions. We'll try to find a solution for this problem and post here if such solution is implemented.

For now as workaround you can add custom Align and Resize hotkeys in the Hotkeys section (AWM configuration module > Hotkeys > Actions) and then apply these hotkeys specially to Firefox via the "Run keyboard macro" startup action in the specific settings for Firefox. You'll need to specify the key combinations of these hotkeys as keyboard macros. You can add a delay for these macros so that they're applied after the Firefox own restoration (for example I've tested it with 2 seconds delay and it worked).

Best regards.

Thanks, that looks great.

I have some trouble doing this. I'm trying to use Win-Ctrl-a to resize.

I found where to do it, my guess is that I have to use the "Add key combination" feature.

If I simply put: <Win+><Ctrl+>a

that will enter the 3 keys one after the other, but not as a combination, correct?

Typing insert adds:

<>

Should I put:

<<Win+><Ctrl+>a>

And last, do you have a PDF manual? That would be much easier to use than the online help.

Robert,

All the keys of the combo should be inside the brackets like this:
<Win+Ctrl+A>

<Win+Ctrl+A> to align the window works, thanks.

But I cannot make work Align + Resize (which is Win+Crl+W).

I tried:

<Win+Ctrl+A><Win+Ctrl+W>

This one made Firefox hang once, but usually does nothing.

and

<Win+Ctrl+A Win+Ctrl+W>

Also, what seems to be a bug: using "Modify applied settings" sometime stops working, nothing pops up. I have to start the Actual interface from it's taskbar icon, and manually search the Firefox specific settings.

Try to disable the hotkey "Switch default audio device" which has the same key combination <Win+Ctrl+A> and see whether the problem happens in this case.

Is it only with Firefox? Please see whether the problem stops if you disable the "Switch default audio device" hotkey.

That did not help.

I have also some problems with mediainfo:

https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download
MediaInfo_GUI_24.04_Windows.exe

Size and position at startup are random, I need to use Win+F5, sometimes 2 or 3 times, to set the window as it should be.

All this happened after the after the upgrade to v8.15.1, I will try to re-install in safe mode and get back to you.

After re-installing in safe mode, no more problems with mediainfo, nor with the Firefox macro (so far...) that works transparently with a 1s delay.

Thanks.
