I'm running XP Pro SP3 x32 with AWM 7.0.
I have several applications set to minimize to the screen, and while this works well for some of them, it's very unreliable for two of them and somewhat unreliable for a couple of others. I've mentioned the two that it is very unreliable for in other threads: ATI Catalyst Control Center and Elpis. For these two, there are multiple problems with the minimize to screen function. Most frequent and most serious is that AWM seems to lose track of these programs and the screen button for the program just disappears even though the program is still running (in this case, AWM also usually stops applying the rest of the settings in the rule for that program). It can be quite difficult to get the screen button to come back. Sometimes changing a setting, changing it back, and then saving the settings restores the button, but usually this takes several attempts. It also works part of the time to re-specify the target window and then save, but this fix isn't dependable either. Sometimes I have to shut AWM down and restart it, and sometimes the only thing that gets it working properly again is a reboot.
In the case of Catalyst Control Center, there is an additional problem that occurs a bit less frequently. The screen button remains, but clicking it while the program is minimized has no effect (CCC is still running). I have to right-click the button, choose Close window, and then restart CCC. This always restores the functionality of the screen button, but the other problem described above may prevent the screen button from being displayed at all after CCC is restarted.
I'm also occasionally having a problem with the screen button disappearing with Outlook Express. There is no rhyme or reason as to when the button disappears. I can usually get it to come back by respecifying the target window and saving the rule.
In general, I find that the screen buttons for most programs are not created reliably when programs load at boot time. This might be a timing issue or simply a matter of high resource usage at that time, but when this occurs, it requires that I take some action or other in AWM to get it to apply the minimize to screen settings correctly and create the screen button.

Hello Mike,
Could you send me your configuration files (Actual Window Manager -> Tools -> Configuration -> Send to Tech Support) with a step-by-step description of how to reproduce it?
We can't fix bugs that we can't reproduce.
Best regards.

You should now have received my configuration files.
These problems have almost completely disappeared since I installed the 7.1 and 7.2 betas, so at least for now, let's consider them fixed.
