( info: win xp pro russian sp 2; vertical task-bar is placed in the left edge of screen )
i've updated my Actual Window Manager from 6.0 to 6.5
as a result -
volu-mouse
(the very important application for me) stopped working properly almost at all
for several years i had been using volu-mouse (1.67) along with AWM 5.3 / 5.4 / 6.0 without any problems
i've updated volu-mouse from 1.67 to 2.00 (beta 3) - the conflict still exists
the main point is the following - i've customized volu-mouse the way that i may change the volume using mouse wheel
so when my mouse cursor is:
1) over the task-bar
2) over a title bar
3) on screen corners
4) on screen edges
i may just scroll up/down and thus correspondingly change the volume
(just in case)
here's the screen-shot from my volu-mouse:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/41/volumouse.png/
so,
with AWM 6.5 enabled
volu-mouse doesn't work anymore
there are several (not so useful/convenient/sufficient) exceptions: after all the volume may be changed when scrolling over taskbar, but only AFTER clicking on its empty area; the volume may also be changed when scrolling on 2 screen corners (upper left, bottom left) - again, it is possible only after clicking on an empty area of task-bar
but all other cases (over a title bar, on all screen corners, on screen edges; over the task-bar without necessity to click on its empty area beforehand) volu-mouse doesn't work
(just in case)
volu-mouse is working when AWM 6.5 is disabled
(just in case)
volu-mouse is
working better
but
still not as it should
when the option 'scroll inactive windows' is disabled (by the way, this option is
quite important
for me):
- scrolling over task-bar is absolutely normal (there's no necessity to click on its empty area beforehand in order to change the volume)
- scrolling on screen right edge is working
- scrolling on screen bottom edge is working
- scrolling on screen upper edge is NOT working
- scroling over a title bar is NOT working
- scrolling on screen corners is working (EXCEPT for the upper right corner)

Any progress on this? I just spent several hours
trying to fix volumouse and then turned up this thread with a Gooogle search. It reminded me that I'd recently enabled 'scroll inactive windows.' I'd really like to see this fixed.

Mike Brazil
,
let's hope that this problem will be fixed in the next version of AWM
because at the present time this conflict with volu-mouse is the most inconvenient thing for me

Hello Mike and Maks,
Do you still have this problem with Actual Window Manager 6.6 and volumouse with the "Scroll inactive windows with the mouse wheel" option turned off?
Best regards.

Hi Vasiliy,
With AWM 6.6, I do NOT have the problem with "Scroll inactive windows with the mouse wheel" turned off. However, it is disappointing that I have to give up either volumouse or "Scroll inactive windows." Is there any chance you'll be able to change something in AWM to make it possible to use both?
Mike

for me this situation is quite upsetting in view of the fact that i switched from 6.0 to 6.5 exactly because of the option 'scroll inactive windows'

Hello Mile and Maks,
Thanks for your messages.
We'll investigate this.
I added this as a feature request.
Best regards.
