Using Win7 x64 and recently installed the trial version of Actual Multiple Monitors and now every time I start Windows up the desktop icons are being rearranged. Instead of using the default size of the icons I had reduced them in size via CTL+ Mouse key then I installed Actual Monitors and since then this rearrange is occurring. Is Actual Multipl Monitors doing this? I have another util that I can restore the desktop icon layout when this happens but I have to resize them down first.

Hello pcguy,
Thanks for the post.
Could you turn off the "Load at startup" option (Actual Multiple Monitors -> Options -> General -> Load at startup), restart your computer and check whether the problem still persists with Actual Multiple Monitors turned off or not?
Best regards.

That did not help. I noticed that when this happpens the size of the icons reverts back to their larger size. For now I have given up resizing them down and what ever is rearranging them seems to have stopped.

What is this application (name, version)?
Could you check whether the problem persists with this application turned off or not?
Best regards.

The application, which does not run in the background, is DesktopOK 2.35

I can not turn this application off since it is not running unless I run it to save or restore the icon layout. In order to fix the problems I do not resize the icons down to a smaller size on the desktop. That way they are not resized to their normal size on bootup.

Hi pcguy,
I have used DesktopOK in the past and I know that there is a setting to start the program automatically with windows and also autosave. So it may be that it is running when Windows starts. And if my memory serves me correctly, there is also a setting that restores the last back-up at startup. Are you therefore sure that it is not running when the computer starts up? You can check this by looking at the process tab in Windows Task Manager right after start-up. There should also be a setting of course in DesktopOK.

DesktoOK is only being run on demand and is not starting automatically.

Hello pcguy,
Do you have other applications that can rearrange desktop icons?
Best regards.
