Hi, been having this issue for at least the last few builds of Actual Windows Manager, perhaps since 6.1 ish?  Don't think it's always happened.  I notice this mainly on my work PC, which is a triple monitor setup.  The left monitor is 800x600, the middle monitor is the primary and is 1680x1050, and the right monitor is 1152x864.  On both the left, and the right monitors, I have a few different windows I leave open all day.  Most of them, have positions and sizes defined in Actual Windows Manager, as well as having some of the "standard window parts"  removed like the title bar.  Also, most of these windows are duplicates of the same process/program, and are differentiated fr om each other using the Window Caption. This all works fine/great.  UNTIL - the screen saver kicks in.  It seems that once I kick off the screen saver, by moving the mouse etc.  Once the screen saver goes away, the various aforementioned windows "slide" over, as if they had snapped to a previously defined incorrect position.  Also, they often lose their various "removed standard window parts", and those parts are back again.  If I do a "Reapply Settings" to the affected windows (WIN+F5), the windows get their correct settings back, slide back to wh ere they need to go, resize right, and lose their removed window parts again.  It's just annoying to have to do this to like 6 windows each time I kick off my screen saver.

I just sent you my configuration files to tech support from within the program, and mentioned this thread in the e-mail it sent. Let me know if you need any other info from me.  Thanks.

Hello Jim,

Thanks for the post.

What exactly applications (names, versions) do you have this problem with?

Could you send me (support@actualtools.com) screenshots of the problem?

Best regards.

Hi Vasiliy.  I have this with any application, that I have Window Rules setup for in Actual Windows Manager, for windows positioned on my left and right monitors.  It isn't application specific.  In the following screen shots, the three windows on my left monitor belong to Artisoft Televantage version 6.10.3259.  The windows on my right monitor are for the standard Windows calculator, and a program called TMS, which is proprietary software our company wrote in Visual FoxPro.  But again, this happens for ANY program I have rules setup for.

To reproduce this issue, I simply stopped/started Actual Window Manager, so the rules would apply to all the open windows.  I then went into the display properties, and "previewed" my screen saver.  I "woke" the screen back up with my mouse.  The before screen shot shows the normal window positions.  The after screenshot, is after I "woke" it back up.  See how all the windows on the left and right monitor, have moved around?  Most of them have slid to the right, and the size of them has changed too.  Often times they "regain" their removed "window parts" too.  Again either stopping/starting Actual, or doing a Win+F5, puts them back to normal again.  See the below screen shots:

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Hello Jim,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you turn off the "Keep layout automatically" and the "Resize along with desktop" options (Actual Window Manager -> Actions -> Options -> Windows Layout) and try to reproduce the problem?

Could you send me screenshots of the Screen Saver page (Actual Window Manager -> Multiple Monitors tab -> Screen Saver) and settings window of this screen saver?

Could you check whether the problem persists with another screen saver (not 3D Pipes) or not?

Please, inform me about your results.

Best regards.

OK tested, it happens with any of the built in "3D" screen savers like 3D Flower Box, 3D Pipes, 3D Text, etc.  It does NOT happen, with the "normal" screen savers, like Marquee, Starfield, Blank, etc.  I am assuming, it is because the 3D screen savers, temporarily change the resolution or position of the displays, were as the "normal" ones do not. For now, I've switched to a normal screen saver so that this doesn't bug me anymore.  As it happens with ANY of the 3D screen savers, I'm not bothering to send you the settings screen shots for now, let me know if you still need them for some reason but it shouldn't be settings specific.

Turning off "Keep layout automatically" fixes the issue.  With it on, with any of the 3D screen savers, this happens.  With it OFF, it doesn't.  So I've left it off for now too.  "Resize along with desktop" doesn't seem to have any affect on this issue.

Let me know if you need other info.
