Hello,

I've got a dual screen setup and I often launch 2 Eve Online clients each on its own monitor.

Eve Online is configured to run in a window with a custom resolution so it fits with borders and titlebar exactly on one screen when I start the game. I came up with that resolution before I started using AWM and before the game supported resizing of the window (maximized was disabbled). Each Eve Online client is run from its own folder and uses its own settings in my profile folder. However, both clients are set with the same graphics settings.

Now that the client does support resizing and the maximize feature does work, I am using AWM to position client 1 on monitor 1 and client 2 on monitor 2. Next I noticed that when I double click the titlebar (or click maximize) the client neatly resizes, and the border is removed without overlapping the start menu.

So with AWM I position each client and have now configured it to maximize the window too. On Monitor 1 (client 1) this works fine but the 2nd client consistently jumps behind the start menu and leaves a border on monitor 1 (overlapping client 1 with a few pixels). I then doubleclick the titlebar (or maximize button) and the border is removed, client resizes and honors the start menu on monitor 2.

I figured it was something in the settings so I removed the entire client 2 entry in AWM and made a copy of client 1. I set it to monitor 2 and selected client 2 from the process list. I saved the settings, close the client, restart it ... no show, same problem.

I would appreciate any help in getting this sorted because it is quite annoying.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I am using the latest beta version. This problem has been here since 6.2 as far as I can remember.

Hello,

Could you send me your configuration files (File -> Send Configuration -> Send to the Tech Support)?

What version of Eve Online client do you have?

Best regards.

Mail sent;

Dear Support,

As requested in the forum thread http://www.actualtools.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=1338&MID=5646#message5646, I hereby send you the configuration files.

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate  (x64)

OS Version: 6.1.7600 Build 7600 Multiprocessor Free, station (x64)

Actual Tools Program Name: Actual Window Manager

Actual Tools Program Version: 6.4 beta 2 (problem occurring since 6.3)

Conflicted Program Name: Eve Online Client

Conflicted Program Version: 6.34.214371

Actions Required to Reveal the Problem:
In a dual monitor setup, copy The Eve client folder (c:\program files\eve) to a 2nd folder, called Eve2. Make separate shortcuts for each client folder.

Configure each client to run in a window, resize it to fit in on a single monitor and maximize, each client on its own monitor. In actual Window Manager Config, there should be 2 EVE client configurations called "RAWNIE" and "JACK". Each of these should be linked to one of the Eve Client folder Executable. Once linked, each client should now launch and maximize on its own monitor, but the config for "JACK" never maximizes properly, as described in the forum thread.

Your help is much appreciated.
Best regards,

Hello,

Please, try to uncheck "Block premature appearance of window" option on Startup tab and inform me about your results.

Best regards!

Hi,

I just tried that and what happens now is that the Eve client is no longer moved to monitor 2 but stays on Monitor 1. Maximized is still not working properly and leaves a border overlapping on the other monitor, in this case, on monitor 2.

Thanks.

Hello,

Eve client runs properly with unchecked the "Block premature appearance of window" option on my PC (Windows 7 x64).

Could you send me your configuration files again to solve this problem?

Best regards!

Done.

Edit:
With the new Incursion patch that came out today it seems to work fine now. It now starts maximized properly without a border on the other screen.

:D

Many thanks for the help though, appreciate it!
