This is just a question, does anybody knows how to "make" or force Windows XP SP3 to "write" a log of the programs the system "runs" to start up the computer? Same for shutting down, I really want to know WHAT the system is doing to start and to shut down, sometimes takes for ever.

Also, you may refer to the
Event Viewer
system applet for the information about services startup/shutdown.
