I'm about half way through the trial period of Actual Title Buttons.  I run XP-SP3 on an E8200 with 4G RAM.

I often find that a Shut Down request stops part way through terminating executing programs - there's no Program Not Responding, End Program dialogue, the shut down just doesn't complete, it does not Hang/Wedge/Jam.

If I click Start->Turn Off Computer->Shut Down, nothing happens. - I can start and use any programs I want to use - Firefox, Word, Picasa etc.  I can't see any pattern, except that if I don't run ATB this never happens.

If I right click  Actual Title Buttons in the SysTray and select Exit (I have not tried Stop) and then click Start->Turn Off Computer->Shut Down, then the computer will shut down.

There are certain programs that I always terminate  manually before I shut down or restart, including Firefox, Outlook 2007 (I have Dave Levinson's ShutDown add in, so I am confident that it's terminating), other Office 2007 apps, OOo apps, ACDSee Pro 2.5 image library manager, WMP, WinAmp etc - basically my "rule" is to shut down all the apps that I don't auto start.

I have added Actual Title Buttons to that list.

The only time I don't have to exit ATB before shutting down is if the system has only been on for a short while - eg I turn it on, check emails and shut it down.

My perception is that other programs are crashing more frequently since I installed ATB.  Zabkat's xplorer2 Lite is one such program, I installed a new version of it at about the same time as I installed ATB, I have used xplorer2 Lite for ages and found it to very stable. Similarly CoolFocus' Shelltoys falls over more than it used to (which was like, never), but a new version of it rolled out about a month ago too.

And Firefox crashes more often - but this SNAFU with Firefox.

I do run a fairly busy system

Despite these problems I will be buying ATB at the end of the trial period.  The occasional need to restart xplorer2 or cliphook is no big deal, New Deal or Bush Deal, and me forgetting to terminate ATB manually doesn't signal the start of WW3.

This problem is confirmed.

RU saying that this is a known defect

BTW when I clicked the Quote button I got thrown to your home page with my back button disabled.  Why don't you get a real BB system like IPBoard or phpBoard.
