I installed a trial of AWM 8.14.2.
I configured Closing behavior to ignore left click on closing window icon.
It works ok for most programs, but not for Chrome or Firefox.
I have tried configuring both as default and window specific rules, but Chrome and Firefox always close with left click.
Also they refuse to hide the window minimize and maximize icons during window start.

These are known problems, and they are associated with peculiarity of Chrome and Firefox windows. We'll try to fix them, although we're not sure whether it's even possible to fix the problem with removing the standard minimize and maximize buttons in these windows. We'll post here if we have any news.
Best regards.

I'm glad to notify you that the subject issue has been fixed and the fix is available in
the latest version of Actual Window Manager 8.14.6.1
and our other products as well.
You can update your program to the latest version (program's tray icon context menu > Info > Check for Updates) or download the latest version manually, install it and confirm the fix.
Best regards.
