I've followed the instructions to add QuickTime Player so it displays the new title buttons but they don't appear. Is QuickTime compatible with Actual Title Buttons?

Hi,
Thank you very much for your interest to our program.
Actual Title Buttons doesn't work with Apple iTunes now, but I don't know about any problem with QuickTime Player.
Can you tell me what version of QuickTime Player do you use and where we can download it?
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Michael Tretyakov

Quick time player exists in MAC and XP versions separately in german and english. English version only complies with english XP OS, german only with german windows OS. These 4 versions also exist in pro and public variations, giving you a total of 8 versions.
Currently some of these 8 are still tested and not all available yet. In my case, I combine german OS XP professional with SP2 and german public Windows version of qt player 6.5.2, which seems to still be the latest, because 7 and 7 pro only exist in english or for MAC, all of which is incompatible with my german XP OS.
This 6.5.2 free version does show Actual Win Man 3.7 context menu when I right click it on the task bar, but does not accept any 3.7 Actual title buttons. To be exact, several stages of splash windows appear before the main playing window shows which I am referring to now. However, 1 of the 2 intermediate splashes and the player main frame do shortly display the few TWEAK WINDOW MANAGER 1.5 buttons I assigned to all windows. As you know, this manager does not offer as differentiated separate rules for diff. windows as you do, I only assign the buttons your 3.7 version does not have yet.
My quick time players taskbar right click menu also displays TWEAK WINDOW 1.5 context menu correctly, not just the ACTUAL WINDOW settings. Of course, there are several ways of still accomplishing some things normally done with ACTWINMAN. The first impression of a skinner is, when seeing the quick time window, it has its own skin. Some skins still accept external buttons applied by window managing programs, some do not or accept less instead. One day, some users might try to reskin that window using public or enhanced versions of windowblinds and thus applying skins selfmade with, again, free or registered versions of SKIN STUDIO, both by STARDOCK. For some programs, you must first apply a rather expensive 3d STARDOCK program by the name of DIRECT SKIN to make the program window skinnable at all externally.
Here is one of the URLS of Quick Time by apple, switch to MAC/WINDOWS/GERMAN/ENGLISH for download always keeping in mind that the language always must match the language of your OS:
Apple Quick Time Download Page
I just hope the quick time player and the i-tune player are the same things both of you are meaning, otherwise there may be a mixup with yet more versions. The mentioned TW win 1.5 buttons only show on mouseover some times, and better in the splash than the main and last of the 3 player window stages. If you could reskin at all, then adding your own buttons, even with their own custom functions more powerful than standard window managers tend to feature is at least a feasibility not to be outruled, as long as you are not using the MAC versions.
For them, separate tools might exist, I am currently specialized in the
windows XP
side of apple only, not the MAC side of apple. So then you also need a different window managing tool, if yours does not handle MAC soft- and hardware, plus a MAC equivalent of STARDOCKS direct skin, STARDOCKS WINDOWBLINDS 4.6, and STARDOCK SKIN STUDIO PROFESSIONAL 4.6, all of which are 64-bit versions of the beta section for registered users in the combinations apt most for this rather advanced task. Unless apple themselves offer their own solution, they have big forums for MAC in English, but not that much for current german xp users.
Should none of these tricks help (which seem far fetched for solving only 1 problem like this but do come in handy for other things often anyway), you could still contact apple support or input a feature request. Wonder if this brings any results. Sure it could take a while to find out. Have a nice weekend!

Hi Tobiel,
Thanks for information.
I downloaded QuickTime from Apple and found that this program doesn't have the standart window title. QuickTime removes it and draw the caption by itself.
That is why our buttons doesn't show here, but context menu of Actual Window Manager works fine. You are right about this.
Dear Guest, please try to use our most powerful Actual Window Manager program. You may download it from our site at
http://www.ActualTools.com/files/aimsetup.exe
We also will try to find solution how to add our additional buttons to QuickTime Player title.
Sincerely,
Michael Tretyakov

Glad this info helped to a certain extent. Have not managed to reskin yet, maybe because of what Michael found out, and also because do not have DIRECT SKIN yet by Stardock which may be necessary first to make this program skinnable. Still trying out 1 or 2 tricks. If you don´t hear anything more from me the next days, I was not able to achieve further successes. One day I might get Direct skin. Also, I am readjusting some of the tools belonging to the extensive Stardock suite, which is complicated in some of the new 64bit beta versions, that are already heading towards the direction of VISTA, by the way. This I have to pursue further anyway; once everything is readjusted I might have an update report.
As Mr. Tretyakov said, though, already you can easily make a great deal work with the act. tools 3.7 context menu, which is easy to apply without major effort. His info also helped me. Now I know which special means could be the only ones left for me if I was not content yet. For me, everything works well enough with the context menu and my current 3.7 actual suite. It just happens that I am also retesting the skinning updates for other reasons... We will see.
In the meantime, I found out that: I-tunes is a separate program with another window skinned by apple resulting in the same problems. They have installers for both programs together and several standalone installers. Plus you want their active-x control enabling the installer of first the basic quicktime to even be able to read their site, then the normal installer upgrading to 6.5.2 public. If the plugins show error messages while you try to update them separately, another installer for qt standalone is offered for correcting driver problems in XPs secure mode.
What is more important and rather simple yet helpful is the fact that under QuickTime´s own program preferences you can tick an explicit box autostarting quick time with a QT tray icon including a detailed right click context menu of its own for the sys tray icon. Some things here may also be solutions for what you wanted your buttons to do; however in most cases, I did not need this. On the contrary, in example tray minimizing seems more attractive with your window managing program, because qt systray icon solely shows in combination with autostart, while actwinman 3.7´s taskbar context menu for qt even enables many options without autostart or existance of a qt systray icon.
