I've got AWM set up to replace the system taskbar, and up to 8.10 the system tray icons pretty much matched my native taskbar. But now I can't turn Touch keyboard and Windows Ink Workspace off (or rather I _have_ turned them off, but they still show when AWM is active). Is there some setting in AWM to get rid of these? I have only 4 icons set to 'On' in the 'Turn system icons on or off' settings page - Clock, Volume, Network and Action Centre.

These icons can be disabled for Actual Window Manager taskbars in the taskbar context menu (right click on a taskbar). Please see, whether you're able to manage the icons via the taskbar context menu.

Best regards.

Ah, yes, thanks. So, I have 3 questions / suggestions:

1. I'm still not sure why that suddenly changed between 8.10 and 8.11 - were those options just included in 8.11?
2. Would it be possible to also include all those in the Configuration pane for Taskbar, so that the options are searchable (if like me you're confused about where to find things)?
3. Is there a reason AWM wouldn't just follow the system preferences for that (Settings → Turn system icons on or off)?

Many thanks,

David.

You're right. Since version 8.11 there is the ability to display some standard taskbar controls which previously weren't available for displaying on AWM taskbars:
   - Input Language Switch button (since Windows 8 )
   - Touch Keyboard button (since Windows 10)
   - Ink Workspace button (since Windows 10 Anniversary Update)
   - Touchpad button (since Windows 10 Creators Update and in Tablet mode only)

We think that options like this – standard taskbar controls – should reside in the taskbar context menu and we don't consider duplicating them in the configuration window.

AWM taskbars don't follow these settings of system taskbar just because many of AWM taskbar settings are adjusted individually for each taskbar, which provides the ability of flexible taskbars adjustment.

Best regards.
