Actual Virtual Desktops 8.10.1
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Sometimes when a program auto-starts and is moved to a specific desktop via "Specific Settings" in the AVD configuration, the window will appear on the current desktop. If I then use a hotkey to switch to the correct desktop, the windows will appear there too. After that, I will switch back to the original desktop and the auto-started program will be gone (it will be on the correct desktop).

Hello, Josh

What mode of Virtual Desktops do you use - Classic or Independent?

What programs have you noticed this problem with (names, versions)?

Best regards.

I use Independent mode.

Specifically, I notice this with the game Diablo II (v. 1.14d)

Hello, Josh

I was unable to reproduce the issue with Diablo II.

You're running it in the window mode, right?

As i can see, there are several specific settings for Diablo II with different caption parameter values in your configuration. Does the window change the caption? Does your version of the game have some special wrapper?

How exactly do you launch the game - for example via double click or via the desktop icon context menu?

Does the problem depend on from what virtual desktop you launch the game? Do you launch it from the monitor number 1?

How often does the problem appear (for example 3 of 10 times you launch the game)?

I figured out why this issue happens. When the D2 window opens, it gets moved to a different place on the screen. If I disable the reposition feature, then the game window will indeed get moved to the correct virtual desktop every time.
