Hi,

I just started using RocketDock, but I can't seem to get it to work on virtual desktops, even if I create a rule to show it on multiple desktops. Perhaps its something to do with how RocketDock catches its activation trigger (moving the mouse to the centre top of the main monitor. Just hoping there's an easy fix, as it kind of defeats the purpose of the productivity tool if I have to switch back to the primary desktop to start any app!

Thanks,

David.

Dear David,

Now I can advice you only one way.

Create the rule with Program criteria: \RocketDock.exe (disabled other). On the Startup tap set all desktops. And (!important!) load RocketDock when AWM already is loaded.

Hi - sorry for the delay, I've been away for a month...

Yes, that is what I tried, and it didn't seem to work. But having upgraded to 6.2 and tried again, it seems fine now - not sure if that was related to the version change or just whether I hadn't got the rule quite right before, but anyway, all's good.

Thanks,

David.

Hi - I know this is an old thread, but I still have a long-standing problem with RocketDock, and I'm curious if it's just me or whether it affects others.

In your last reply, you said "(!important!) load RocketDock when AWM already is loaded". This is a bit of a pain when they're all in the startup group, and it's pot luck if AWM finishes loading first. But, if RD does happen to start first, it will refuse to appear.

I've noticed that _some_ maximised windows (not all - perhaps not elevated programs?) do allow the RocketDock to appear, if there's 'blank desktop' at the top of the screen, RD simply refuses to come down. Quitting and restarting RD cures the problem - as does stopping AWM.

Is there any chance AWM will one day be sympathetic to RD if it's already running? Note I'm not referring to the virtual desktops problem, which is indeed solved by the rule as outlined above. This problem happens on the primary and all other desktops, regardless of that rule.

David,

Please specify the current version of your RD copy (I suppose you use the latest one, as well as AWM, but have to be sure).
