Current:
Windows 7 Pro x64
I have two monitors, one using vanilla taskbar and the other with AMM's taskbar
Start Menu's Downloads, Favorites, Administrative Tools and Control Panel are set to "Display as a menu"
AMM is set to Mirror Mode and NOT to replace primary taskbar.
Setting AMM to a different mode, switching taskbars between the two monitors,
or replacing the primary taskbar with AMM's does not resolve my issue, described below.
Issue:
The Start Menu, when brought up on either monitor, fails to display the
menus for Downloads, Favorites, Administrative Tools and Control Panel on hover.
Clicking on these items immediately closes the Start Menu, and nothing else happens.
Right-clicking and selecting Open works as usual, though.
Stopping AMM in the Tools section of the Control Center resolves this issue.
The issue immediately returns when AMM is started again.
This issue occurred immediately after updating to the latest version.

Hello, Samuel!
Am I correct in understanding that vanilla taskbar is a native Win7 taskbar? If so, I have to admit, that I haven't managed to reproduce the issue you described in Win 7 Pro x64. If not, please be more specific about vanilla taskbar.
For further investigation of the problem, please, send us your Actual Multiple Monitors Configuration (Actual Multiple Monitors -> Tools -> Configuration -> Send to Tech Support)
with a reference to this thread
.
Thank you for your post!
Best regards.

Yes, I meant the native taskbar and startmenu provided by Windows 7.
I sent the configuration files to the support email address with a link to this thread as requested.

Dear Samuel,
we have received an email from you with a zip-file missing. Please send us your Actual Multiple Monitors configuration again with that zip file attached. If you are experiencing any problems sending that file, feel free to contact us.
Best regards.

Dear Samuel,
please try to do the following:
Go to Actual Multiple Monitors -> Window Settings -> Specific Settings -> 'Windows Explorer' -> Startup.
Scroll to the bottom of the Startup tab and
check the Compatibility mode checkbox.
Apply your adjustments.
Please let me know, if it helped.
Best regards!

Your suggestion does fix my issue most of the time.
However, on occasion only the bottom and right border's shadow appears and
items in the menu may or may not appear and become selectable once hovered over.
Included is a screenshot example.

Dear Samuel,
please uncheck the
Block premature appearance of window
checkbox and see if it helps.
If it doesn't, I will have to ask you what exact purposes the 'Windows Explorer' Specific Settings rule was created for, and we'll see if it can be reconfigured to avoid the undesired effects you describe.
Best regards!

Unchecked setting. Issue still persists as long as AMM is running, even when stopped via notification tray menu.
The setting was a matter of convenience in case one of my monitors was unavailable.
My two monitors are connected to a matrix switch, so one or both of my two monitors could be used for
a console, video player or another computer while my main PC is still running.
Due to the way the switch works, Windows still thinks these displays are still available even when switched out.
Also, my "primary" monitor as set via Windows display properties is not actually my main display, but rather
the display best positioned for videos/games as graphics performance suffers on secondary displays in Windows.
The intended behavior is for windows to appear on the display I'm working on unless they are strictly
graphics intensive (primary) or for productivity (secondary), otherwise whichever is being currently used and
not, hopefully, switched out to display the video from a different device altogether.
I may have set the default behavior differently at some time and forgot about this
specific setting made to compensate for it. I really can't remember.
I can honestly do without the specific Windows Explorer setting and just leave the global behavior
at "has mouse pointer" and make specific settings from there.
Issue persists even after disabling the Windows Explorer specific setting and restarting.
