Since updating to version 7.5 the virtual desktop switcher has become useless. Any attempt to change desktops results in a crash and a long wait for the software to recover. I am using Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Phil
Send us your configuration files using the Send to Tech Support tool.
Does it matter which way you're trying to switch the Virtual Desktops - via the Desktop Switcher or using the hotkeys?
Best regards.

Hi Bogdan
No it doesn't matter which method I use. However, I do seem to have improved the situation by disabling Desktop Divide.

Hello Phil
Do you mean the only option that was changed in the settings that you sent us is the "Enable Desktop Divider"? Are the layout and settings for Desktop Divider the same as when the problem occurred?
I was unable to reproduce the issue enabling the Desktop Divider.
Could you check whether the crashing depends on what windows and applications are open?
Best regards.

Hi Bogdan
I have been experimenting with some of the settings and so I have sent you my configuration file again, as it is now. Desktop divider is still disabled. I have tried with different windows open and different applications running. The result is the same - AWM crashes. I am unable to switch virtual desktops until AWM recovers.
Regards
Phil

Hello Phil
1) Could you clarify the situation?
First you try to switch the virtual desktop. AWM crashes and then recovers. Does the virtual desktop switch after/upon recovering by itself or do you mean that you're able to switch it after AWM recovers? Does AWM crash only the first time you try to switch or does it crash every time? Is the procedure always the same - you try to switch, AWM crashes, recovers - you switch successfully?
2) Could you make sure that the following option is enabled:
Control Panel > System and Security > Action Center > Change Action Center Settings > Problem Reporting Settings > Each time a problem occurs, ask me before checking for solutions
Then next time AWM will crash, select the "View problem details" item. In the details area there should be the path to the crash dump file. Send this file to us manually.
Best regards.

Hi Bogdan
Thanks for your replies. I decided to delete AWM and reload it. This seems to have fixed the problem completely. I have checked the setting you suggest in item 2 and will send you a dump next time a problem occurs.
Regards
Phil
