Whenever I minimise or maximise an application (on either monitor), or click on the taskbar entry to bring an application to the top (again on either monitor), then whichever application is on top of the stack of windows on monitor 2 has it's taskbar icon drawn on taskbar 1 as well - sometimes sticking there until I mouse over the taskbar, sometimes being cleared after a few seconds.

I use X-Mouse from TweakUI, but have disabled this (as I know it can cause odd effects with windows and focus changing rapidly), and the AWM problem is still there.

Is this just an inevitable side effect on XP? Or is there something not working as it should? This isn't new to 7.2, but still there in the latest version from what I can see.

Thanks,

David.

Hello David.

Do you mean that the extra icon for the application which is on top of the secondary appears on the primary taskbar even if your actions don't affect this application (e.g. when you minimize some application on the primary and next active window is on primary too).

Please send us your configuration files using the Send to Tech Support tool.

Best regards.

Yes, that's right. I've attached a screen shot as an example - I had one Explorer app open on the left hand monitor, and Notepad on the right. I minimised the Explorer app, and Notepad appeared on both taskbars. Usually, it's only for a few seconds, but is enough to be distracting as the scroll in and out. I've also noticed that sometimes additional taskbar entries from the right hand monitor will also appear on the main taskbar, although it's rare to see more than one of them stick around. Config files on their way.

Thanks,

David.

Hello David.

I see what you mean.

Unfortunately, you're right - this is an inevitable side effect on XP. In the next beta version the time of displaying of the entry on the taskbar will be reduced, but we can't remove this effect totally.

Best regards.
