Hello, monkey moon
Thank you for contacting us.
The ability of our products to correctly work with an application doesn't depend on whether the app is portable or not. Our products should work with Thunderbird, both with usual version and with portable version.
Do you start Thunderbird with elevated rights (as administrator) or as different user? If yes, then try to reinstall AWM and enable the "Support system utilities and Administrative tools" option during the installation and see if it helps.
If you start Thunderbird the same way as other applications, then send us your AWM configuration files using the Send to Tech Support tool (AWM configuration module > Tools > Configuration > Send to Tech Support)? Change the "To..." address to bogdan@actualtools.com and add a link to this topic in the email.
Also specify what exactly settings of AWM you try to use for Thunderbird - Default Settings or specific settings for Thunderbird (AWM configuration module > Window Settings > Default Settings/Specific Settings).
Best regards.
