I love that you guys are adding clipboard history functionality. I've been using a tool called ClipX (
http://bluemars.org/clipx/
) for many years now but it hasn't been updated since 2008.
Newer versions of applications (especially office) are starting to have compatability issues with it.
The workflow in ClipX is great:
- A hotkey brings up a simple context menu at the cursor location listing the most recent X clipboard items.
- The items are in order 1 being the current clipboard contents, 2 being the previous etc.
- Pressing the corresponding number will place that item into the current clipboard and paste it.
Interaction is very fast, and I don't have to move my mouse or click anywhere to use it. While I haven't used any other clipboard history tools, this interaction pattern seems to be common (

) (

) among similar tools.
Also, a additional nice feature is that it will only paste text, not font and formatting. Having this as an option would be a nice added bonus.

Are you using the beta? AWM 8.1beta has these features -- a callable menu that shows the previous clipboard entries, organized by most recently used.
The only part missing is the assigned number to retrieve an entry. This is possible with the "static" clipboard feature, where you can save bits of text to recall with keyboard shortcuts.

Hello Josh,
We'll consider your request for improvement of the clipboard history feature.
Best regards.

"it's free"
It's the best manager I've ever used free or paid.
