Actual Window Manager seems to be causing many full screen games to frequently minimize, seemingly at random. This behavior is highly undesirable, and only occurs when AWM is running.
I believe this problem may be due to AWM's aero thumbnail previews activating in the background, stealing focus and forcing the full screen application to minimize. Unfortunately, AWM offers no way to disable thumbnail previews (it also ignores the built-in Windows setting), making it impossible for me to test.
This problem occurs on Windows 7 Pro x64 with AWM 6.7.2 during full screen game play (most recent game is Fallout: New Vegas, but it happens in many others).
Fixing the underlying problem would be ideal, but even just adding an option to disable thumbnail previews would be useful (this was also requested by another user in the past:

).
Thanks.

Thumbnails could be disabled here - Actual Window Manager -> Actions -> Options -> Window Thumbnails.
Could you inform me about results of your test?
What other games do you have the problem with?
How often does the problem appear?
What version of Actual Window Manger do you use?
Best regards.

Thanks for the response.
I already tried disabling The "Actual Window Manager -> Actions -> Options -> Window Thumbnails" option. However, as stated in the option summary, "This option is only effective for themes other than Vista Aero". This seems to also apply to Windows 7 Aero, since the option does not appear to change anything. If there is no other alternative, I can try disabling the Aero theme, but I'd prefer to keep using it and simply disable thumbnail previews when gaming (assuming that fixes the issue).
This problem happens fairly infrequently, but seems to affect any full screen application. Sometimes it won't happen for several days. Once it does occur, it will generally happen repeatedly at random intervals every few minutes. Closing AWM is the only thing I've found that seems to stop it (other than rebooting), but I suppose it is possible that something else is responsible. The reason I suspect that it may be due to the thumbnail previews is because I've had similar issues with windowed games in the past: sometimes the mouse will temporarily "escape" from the game window and activate a taskbar thumbnail for another application - in this cases the game doesn't minimize, but is rendered transparent behind a different window.
I am running Actual Window Manager 6.7.2 on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
Thanks.

Hello b4k4,
Thanks for the response.
Could you try to trace what actions cause the problem with games minimization appearing?
We can't fix problems that we can't reproduce.
What exactly games/applications (names, versions) do you have this problem with?
What is the smallest application that we can test?
Best regards.
