Yes, it's me again...

Ok, I'll try to be brief.  If you have virtual desktops created, and also have MMT enabled (from the right-click menu on the AWM tool) and you switch virtual desktops, the taskbar on the secondary monitor dissapears, and if you minimize a window on the secondary monitor you cannot see the program on the taskbar on the main display.  Enable MMT is still checked, but if you uncheck and recheck MMT in the right-click menu, the taskbar reappears on the secondary display, and the minimized program is on the taskbar.

If you change virtual desktops, you have to repeat the uncheck/recheck MMT to get that feature to work correctly.

Matt,

You seem to begin testing our software quite tight. :) Am I right that you're currently using 5.2 beta 1?

As for the problem - yes, it seems two components (Virtual Desktops and Multi-Monitor Taskbar) lack of coordination. Thanks for the note, we'll fix it in the next version.

Hi Alexey,

No, I am not using 5.2 beta 1, I'm using 5.1.  See the screen shot below for the help and right-click options.  It does seem strange to have MMT option in version 5.1 though right?

Hi Matt,

That's quite strange. :o Please check the date and timestamp of AWM executables in its installation folder and post them here (mostly, for
Code
*Center.exe, *Config.exe, aimemb.dll
). Thanks.

All of those .exe/.dll files have the date of 5/15/2008.

As I already said in other thread, please try to update your copy of AWM with the latest installation available on our site.

Just getting back to this.  I downloaded the latest 5.1 version and installed and still have the problem with the MMT...which I don't believe is even supposed to be in version 5.1.  Strangely enough the install folder still shows 5/15 as the modified date even though I DL'd the new one directly from the Actual Window Manager home page.

Anyway, FYI the issue still exists, meaning the MMT taskbar does not stay active during virtual desktop switching, and you can 'lose' minimized windows.

Matt,

I'm awfully sorry but it seems that the MMT functionality got to release version 5.1 by mistake, i.e. it shouldn't be available at all because its code was crude and buggy then. Thus, you can either stop using this feature until the release version 5.2 comes out or update to 5.2 beta 1 where this feature becomes available officially (and the subject bug is fixed there).

Sorry again for such confusion.

Strange, I've downloaded 5.2 Beta 1 and now the MMT feature is not in the right click menu of the AWM tool.

But yet the about splash screen tells me 5.2 beta 1...strange.

This is not strange, this is exactly as it should be.

MMT options in the right-click menu were just a debug feature appeared in the release version 5.1 by mistake; currently, they are available in the Options -> Multiple Monitors (where they were planned to be from the outset).

Has the subject bug gone upon installing 5.2 beta 1?
