Thunderbird Won't Start With AWM Running

I'm a long time user of AWM & Mozilla Thunderbird, but started having a problem a while back. Currently running AWM 7.5.1 and Thunderbird 45.5.1, but problem started with previous version of Thunderbird. It goes like this:
If AWM is running, TB won't start. It takes a bit over 18MB of memory (uses ~135MB fully running) and just freezes there, no display and no crash. You can shut it dowm from task mamager and try again, but no success. If all AWM processes are stopped, it starts fine every time. If AWM is started after TB, both programs work fine, even AWM features on TB.
I have tried uninstalling TB, removing profile & all other features, and re-installing it. It will start once with AWM running, but not twice. reboots don't help. It will also start once (and only once) if profile is removed.
I have tried disabling all default & specific window rules in AWM, no help.
I don't use virtual desktops, desktop dividers, or mouse actions.
I have tried disabling hotkeys.
Basically, I have tried with AWM completely disabled but still running, TB still won't start
Any ideas what I should check? Running Windows 7 64 bit, Microsoft Security Essentials for AV. 8GB RAM with Q9450 CPU. System is stable & snappy. No random crashes or any signs of infection.
Thanks
Ed

Hello, Ed
Have you tried to add Thunderbird in the
list of exclusions of Actual Window Manager
?
Have you tried to add Actual Window Manager in the list of exclusions of Microsoft Security Essentials?
Are you able to temporarily disable Microsoft Security Essentials and see whether the problem persists?
Could you please temporarily install the
latest version of AWM
and see whether the problem persists?
Best regards.

I tried all your suggestions, nothing worked except installing the latest version of AWM. So, I gave 1 last try. Uninstalled AWM, removed any directories or registry entries related to AWM, then did a fresh install of v7.5.1. Problem was back without restoring my old config, so bad config ruled out.
Restored config, upgraded to latest version of AWM, paid my $30 for the license. All works perfect now. And it seems to me that it boots a bit faster now? Anyway, problem solved and I'm happy.
Thanks
Ed
