Windows 7 64-bit. AWM 6.1 beta 1. AWM title bar buttons do not show in Internet Explorer 64-bit, even though they show OK in IE 32-bit run on the same system. Is this an "undocumented feature"?

Dariusz,

I've just checked this issue on one of our test computers with Windows 7 x64, and the title buttons work just fine in IE 64-bit.

Could you please try to create a new Window Rule for IE with some actions enabled in Startup tab, like Resize, Align or Make transparent? Then please open a new IE window to check if those actions apply to this window.

Alexander,
I did create Window Rules with Move to Monitor, Resize and Align on Startup for IE x64, IE and Word (wanted to try something else than just IE). They work as they should for for IE and Word, but have no effect at all for IE x64.

Dariusz,

Could you please try to install AWM version 6.0 in some separate folder (if you do not have 6.0 yet) to check whether this problem appears in this version too or not?

Meanwhile, I'll recheck this on some other installation of Windows 7 x64.

Dariusz,

One more thing.
Please specify what anti-virus and firewall is installed in your system.

Alexander,

Good suggestion. I did install AWM 6.0 in parallel. Title bar buttons work OK in IE 64-bit when AWM 6.0 is running. They stop appearing (and window start-up options do not work) when AWM 6.1 beta 1 is running.

My security suite is ZoneAlarm Extreme Security version: 9.1.180.000. I tried switching browser security on and off before (I did not stop the antivirus or firewall, just browser security) it seems to have no effect on this issue.

Alexander,

I just checked the ZoneAlarm Extreme Security: it has no effect on the 64-bit IE title bar buttons issue on my system.

It does not matter whether ZoneAlarm is fully off or on. In both cases the issue remains, there is no buttons and no start-up rules for 64-bit IE with AWM 6.1 beta 1. Buttons and start-up work for AWM 6.0.

Dariusz,

I see.
I still cannot reproduce this problem neither with ZoneAlarm, nor without it.

In which folder have you installed the version 6.1 beta 1? Is it some sub-folder of Program Files?

AWM 6.1 beta 1 is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Actual Window Manager

AWM 6.0 is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Actual Window Manager 6.0

Both are standard installs without customizations.

The system is Windows 7 Home Premium 6.1 (Build 7600) 64-bit. It is an upgrade from Vista Home Premium 64-bit on an HP Pavillion laptop: Intel dual core CPU P7350 2GHz.

Pretty standard, nothing fancy: I run a few extra resident processes (DAEMON Tools SCSI drive emulator, USB device router to create virtual serial ports, and such).

Dariusz,

I've reverted some changes made to AWM between versions 6.0 and 6.1 beta 1. This could possibly fix the problem with IE 64, but I need your confirmation.
Could you please download this test build of AWM 6.1 Beta 1 from here, and check if the problem persists in this version or not?
