Just a single question: do you have an opportunity to check the issue being discussed on any other PC?

 Not easily. My other PC (desktop) runs Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

I will try to find some willing guinea pig with a 64-bit OS, though.

I cannot have this problem on a 32-bit OS box as it appears to be limited strictly to 64-bit applications running on 64-bit Windows (Windows 7 Ultimate now, but the problem existed before I upgraded and was on 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP2). I do not run 64-bit IE 8 on my 32-bit Windows 7 box, nor do I run a 64-bit Diskeeper there.

BTW, I just installed AWM 6.2 beta 1 on my son's laptop running 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. The title bar buttons are there in 64-bit IE 8 and are fully functional. But this is consistently the case right after installation. Let us wait a few days and see what happens: usually things get screwed up in a couple of days.

I will let you know.

Can we somehow close this thread? It has far too many viewers for the benefit it delivers: none whatsoever.

I have run AWM 6.2 beta 1 on two other 64-bit systems (both 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP2) for about 10 days now. There are no symptoms of problematic behaviour with the title bar buttons in 64-bit applications. Everything works as advertised.

On the other hand, on my system (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) the erratic behaviour persists. That is title bar buttons are restored and working properly with every re-install of AWM, but disappear fr om title bars of 64-bit apps within a very short time (this includes all 64-bit applications, also native Windows applets, such as Windows Explorer, console, control panel applets, etc.) Title bar buttons stay and work correctly in 32-bit applications, though.

I have come to the conclusion that this behaviour is lim ited to my system only and while I would love to have this resolved, I understand that it is impractical and a waste of time to try to fix this, and remotely, for one isolated system.

I am moving on. Let us close this thread.
